On Monday, a Johnson County resident anonymously claimed the winning $25,000 A Year for Life ticket from the April 4, 2019 drawing. This is the second top prize in the Lucky for Life game.
The winner matched the first five numbers but not the Lucky Ball. The winning numbers in the April 4 drawing were 3-4-8-16-27 with a Lucky Ball of 3.
The player chose to take the $390,000 cash option instead of the annuity prize option.
The winner explained this was their first time buying Lucky for Life tickets. The player went on to say they normally play Super Kansas Cash and Lotto America but instead ended up buying five Quick Pick Lucky for Life tickets.
“Destiny says I should take those tickets, so I bought them all. It almost feels like divine intervention,” the winner said.
The anonymous winner added they don’t know what they’ll do with their winnings.
“I am probably going to buy a new vehicle, but after that, I don’t know what to do with the winnings. I might make some home improvements and then put the rest in the bank for now,” the winner said.
The winning ticket was sold at QuikTrip 226 at 20605 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee. The retailer is eligible for a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Lucky for Life drawings take place every Monday and Thursday, with a top prize of $1,000 a Day for Life. Players have until 7:59 p.m. on draw days to purchase tickets.
Players are invited to submit all their winning and non-winning tickets in the Kansas Lottery
