An Olathe woman has claimed the first top prize in the Kansas Lottery’s “Silverado” instant ticket, winning a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado and $10,000 cash! Heather Miller had won more than $100 on some Silverado tickets days earlier, and decided to use some of her winnings to buy a few more Silverado tickets over her lunch break. Her instincts paid off with a huge win!
“I have been watching the House Parties on Facebook for the past few weeks,” Miller said. “The host said that no one had won the Silverado yet, so I kept buying those tickets hoping I’d get the truck!”
Once she revealed the Chevrolet symbol, she realized she had won the grand prize! “I contacted the Kansas Lottery right away to come claim my prize,” she said. “After I told my mom, she said I am the luckiest person she knows.”
After coming to the Kansas Lottery Headquarters, she visited the Olathe Chevrolet dealership to test drive some Silverado trucks and began to think about how to customize her new truck. Miller said she will choose a black truck with black wheels and graphite leather seats. Although, Miller laughed, “my favorite part is going to be the push-to-start button and not having a car payment!”
However, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado is not the only thing Miller has won. She is also receiving $10,000 in cash, and already knows what she will do with it.
“Besides paying bills and putting some into savings, I’m going to gift $2,000 to my friend who has four children and needs help with housing. I’m also going to throw a BBQ and invite my family to celebrate with me!”
The winning ticket was sold at Corner Market 119 in Olathe. There is still one top prize left in the $10 Silverado instant scratch game, as well as thousands in other prizes!
