A Kansas Lottery player from Cherokee County has won an amazing $124,600 on the Keno game, making it one of the largest Keno tickets ever sold in Kansas! The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, wagered $4 each for four drawings on the 8-Spot Game with the added Bull’s-eye, and matched all eight of their numbers—which let them grab the progressive jackpot—plus hit the Bull’s-eye to win the total amount!
The winner is an avid Keno player, and often utilizes their specific number method when playing. This time, though, they decided to grab a Quick Pick ticket on their way out of the club after celebrating their birthday.
“Usually I play birthday and anniversary numbers or the four corners, which has given me some good wins in the past,” the winner said. “But this time I had been playing for a bit that day and decided to grab some Quick Pick numbers on my way out, and I’m so glad I did!”
The winner looked up the winning numbers later in the evening and realized that all of their numbers had hit, netting them the huge win! “I kept double checking the numbers to make sure I was seeing it right. Sure enough, I calculated I had won around $120,000! I even called the Lottery ahead of time to tell me exactly how much it was.”
After telling friends and family, the Cherokee County resident made the trip to Topeka with a few friends to claim the prize. Besides taking their friends out for lunch, the winner doesn’t have plans for the money yet.
The winning ticket was sold at VFW 1372 at 137 South East Ave. in Columbus. For selling a Keno ticket worth more than $100,000, the retailer is eligible for a $1,000 selling bonus.
